Service Learning

Service-learning trips are unique experiences that expose nursing students and clinical staff to healthcare systems in other countries. They give the participants an opportunity to serve communities in other parts of the world. Since 2014, I have been creating, leading, and offering nursing students in Georgia these unique opportunities in Puerto Rico and Nicaragua. In these trips, participants meet other nursing professionals creating a broader network system. They also get to experience and understand the education required and the laws that govern nursing practice in other places outside the United States. These trips offer an opportunity to taste the importance of public health while enjoying the cultural flavor that each place offer. Students become health educators, healthcare providers, and advocates. In coordination with other organizations, participants offer care to vulnerable populations like the elderly, and the homeless.

Quality Inpatient Care Inc. will be offering a service-learning trip to Puerto Rico next year. If you are interested, contact us for more information.
