Gladys N. Jusino Leon

Gladys N. Jusino Leon is a highly accomplished nursing professional with a distinguished career in healthcare education and training. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico (PCUPR) in 1982 and her master’s in nursing (MSN) with a concentration in Nurse Educator from Capella University in 2012. Her MSN thesis focused on Ethical Practice in Nursing, emphasizing the importance of ethics in delivering quality patient care.
In 2018, she completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) after implementing a quality improvement project in a hematology/oncology unit, achieving excellent results. This project highlighted her dedication to advancing evidence-based practice in specialized nursing settings (Published results: CJON 2019, 23(2), E32–E38. DOI: 10.1188/19.CJON.E32–E38).

In 2023, she completed dementia training, becoming a certified trainer for the Virtual Dementia Tour created by Second Wind Dreams. The CEO is a nursing professional with extensive experience developing and delivering healthcare education and training, especially for clinical professionals and those in nursing and allied health professions.

Dr. Jusino Leon also holds multiple certifications:

  • Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) from the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nursing (AMSN).
  • Gerontological Nursing Certification (GERO-BC) from the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC), showcasing her expertise in caring for older adults.

In 2023, she became a certified trainer for the Virtual Dementia Tour developed by Second Wind Dreams, furthering her mission to improve the understanding and care of individuals living with dementia.
